Timber Maintenance and Finishes

Finishes

The main finish we use on our timber products is OSMO® Oil/Wax coatings.
The Woodage chooses OSMO® for its durability, stain resistance and ease of maintenance.
OSMO® has an eco-friendly manufacturing process.
It is non-toxic in your home.

Osmo Polyx®-Oil

Osmo Polyx®-Oil The original Hardwax Oil is a professional clear gloss, satin or matt finish.
The Osmo Polyx®-Oil The original Hardwax Oil surface is extremely tough and hard-wearing. It is water-repellent and dirt-resistant guarding against wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juices, milk and water etc.
Renovating is easy. Just clean and re-treat worn areas: No sanding, no repair marks, no removal of previous Polyx®-Oil.
Osmo Polyx®-Oil is based on natural vegetable oils and waxes. It is micro-porous and does not crack, flake, peel or blister. Therefore it is an ideal treatment even in rooms with high humidity.
Polyurethane may still be recommended in some situations

Wood Oils

OSMO® Wood Oils are designed and produced to meet the individual demands of exotic wood species. While the oils are suitable for use on any timber, they come in colours best suited for the timber they have been formulated for.
Use either a two-coat application as a stand alone finish, or one coat if the oil is being used as a base coat under one of OSMO®’s clear exterior oils.

Maintenance - Regular Wet Cleaning

If your bench top is in need of damp cleaning to remove surface dirt etc, OSMO®’s Wash and Care is the ideal general cleaner. Add a cap full to one litre of warm water and use a damp cloth. For more stubborn stains, the cleaner can be used undiluted.

Intensive Cleaning and Refreshing

Before your solid timbertop becomes dull, clean it thoroughly with OSMO®’s Liquid Wax Cleaner. Spray lightly spray over the entire benchtop, then rub in with the cloth provided. Your timbertop then retains its beautiful appearance and becomes more resistant.
